Wellness in British Columbia

Coastal wellness, a mature therapist ecosystem, and nature at every scale.

BC has one of Canada’s most established wellness economies — and also some of the highest costs of living, which shapes how locals actually sustain a routine. Here’s the UnityLife view on what’s worth your time across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and the Interior.

Mental health support

HealthLink BC (dial 8-1-1) is an under-used front door to BC’s publicly funded mental-health services, including Foundry centres for ages 12–24. The BC Association of Clinical Counsellors has a registry where every listed counsellor is registered with a provincial body.

Outdoor wellness

Pacific Spirit Park, Lynn Canyon and the Squamish corridor offer some of the best “forest therapy without a guide” in Canada. On the island, the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet is a gentler alternative to the busier West Coast Trail.

Studios and community

Vancouver’s Commercial Drive, Main Street and the North Shore host the densest cluster of trauma-informed yoga, breath and somatics studios. Victoria punches above its weight in trauma-informed movement and queer-friendly spaces.
